Objectives
We work for the protection of the environment and the sustainability culture, and for the
introduction of their principles into the social and environmental reality that surrounds us.
The achievement of this objective materialises through the development of different scientific studies,
applied research, personalised assessment and mediation, promotion and diffusion actions that,
according to the principles of sustainable development, involve a social, economic and environmental
positive impact.
Principles
When designing and developing a project, Ecoinstitut Barcelona does so following the principles of:
- transdisciplinarity: projects are developed by a team, of diverse training and expertise,
which is constituted according to the profile needed in each case.
- public-private partnership: an special effort in dedicated in order to favour the
collaboration among the Ecoinstitut team, public administrations and social agents,
acting when necessary as environmental mediators.
- independence: studies, collaboration works and mediation tasks are ruled by the principle
of independence.
- transnational collaboration: as far as possible we promote a transnational collaboration
with two objectives: to increase and adjust constantly existing environmental standards to the levels
achieved in countries more advanced in that subject and, on the other hand, to promote the
Mediterranean idiosyncrasy in the European context as an specific contribution.
